This season I found as a family photography spending quite a bit of time at Aylard Farms.
Aylard farms is found in East Sooke. I discovered this spot a few months ago when a client suggested it. The area was new to me and from the name, I thought we were going to an actual farm. I was half right as it used to be an old dairy farm, which makes it the perfect place for pictures, as it is flat for the most part. This spot has it all, forest, paths, meadow, and a sand beach. Being on an island you would think we would have lots of sandy beaches but that couldn’t be farther from what we have. Most of our beaches are rocks. It is a special thing to find a sand beach.
The beach at Aylard farms is beautiful white sand, almost taking you to the tropics. There are rocks that make the backdrop stunning. If that wasn’t enough there is also a meadow and forest. I feel this spot has it all. In a way, it transports you to feel you have left our great city of Victoria. I like we get a text that says welcome to the US. Which tends to be a thing in certain spots on the island.

Capturing moments, no matter where you go is a very special thing for a family. Our children grow up too fast, time goes quickly.
