I hung out at swan lake recently. For me, it is a special place as I used to spend almost every day there as my youngest child was obsessed with it there. She would go to feed the ducks and would spend hours on the trail searching for birds and squirrels. It truly is a beautiful place and a spot guaranteed to produce stunning pictures. What I also love is kids can run, jump and play around without too many people around. During our time there we saw ducks, a heron, 2 otters, some squirrels, and quite a few birds. Truthfully you never know what you might see there.
Showing up it has a peaceful feel no rush, and not many people. I feel it instantly puts you in relaxation mode. You feel that you are miles away from Victoria while in the midst of the city. It’s a place we can just be, walk play in the dirt, feed the ducks, or walk around the trail
If you haven’t been I highly suggest it, they also have a Nature house, you can find turtles, snakes and a bee hive there. It really is a little oasis in the center of a big city, you can feel like you can step away for a little bit.
